5 Tips To Boost Your Mood/Mindset

Quarantine Tips to Boost Your Mood and Mindset

I don’t know about you but for me, my mindset has been crappy lately. Some days are great and others have been days spent in pajamas while laying on the couch just simply trying to make it through the day. These past few months have been difficult and quite crappy. As someone that focuses on gratitude and finding joy in each day, this year has thrown me off center, knocked me back and suprised the hell out of me.

I needed to pick myself up and get back on my feet and thought you could use these tips too as , we are all in this together. Here are my top tips to boost your mood and mindest :

Music

Have you noticed how listening to music can immediately bring you back to a particular moment or event? How music can put a smile on your face? Grab your phone and a speaker and throw on one of your favorite songs. Pay attention to how you feel, notice your mood shifting. This is bringing you back to the present moment. Here is how I incorporate music into my daily routine :

  • Morning : I listen to meditative music, calming sounds while i reflect and express gratitude before my feet hit the floor.

  • Afternoon: I put on uplifting music that boosts my mood . I love listenting to some of my mom and grandmothers favorite songs from their era which helps me stay connected and present

  • Evening : I do my yoga pratice before bed and find that putting on some relaxing music helps me unwind for the day.

Essential OIls

Aromatherapy boosts our mood immediately. I love my essential oils and have been using them for almost 10 years now. You can use topically , diffuse, add to your bath etc…the possibibilites are endless! Here are some of my favorite essential oils and their benefits :

  • Lavender: Promotes a feeling of calm and helps fight nervous tension and anxiety

  • Peppermint: An invigorating and uplifting oil

  • White Angelica: This is a combination of 10 essential oils that help promote positivity and peace ( i have been using this daily lately!)

  • Orange: Helps Clear the mind, purify the air and creates and uplifting environement

Connect

Connect with a friend or family member. Being able to see or talk to someone you care about, boosts your mood instantly. Here are some things I’ve been doing that have helped me stay connected lately:

  • facetime with family

  • virutal GNO ( grab some wine and get online)

  • send a handwritten note to a friend or even better put together a care package for them

  • go through your phone and find photos that you love and re-share them with friends to bring up memories and connection

Sunshine

Did you know that spending 15 minutes a day in the sun boosts your mood and immune system? Get outside ! Take a walk, go for a run , chase the kids or do whatever feels good to you on any given day. The point here is to get some fresh air and soak up some sunshine. If you can’t get outside, sit by the window and soak up the sun.

Exercise

Yep you heard me right! Move your body! Take 15-30 minutes and get those endorphins going! Exercise boosts our mood, boosts our metabolism and helps boost your immune system too! So what I’m saying here is that no matter how DIFFICULT. it is to get started, in the end you won’t regret it! Schedule it in, write it down, set the timer on your phone and get it in!

I hope you incorporate these tips into your daily routine to help boost your mood! Here’s my (current) favorite smoothie recipe too!

Enjoy,

XO, Angel
